Our Story
A confluence of karmic forces led to the formation of this not-for-profit academy. As if by providence, two Tibetan families, one living in the U.S. and the other in India quickly discovered that they shared similar dreams and passions to enhance the academic achievement of Tibetan and other children. The founding members, Dr. Nawang Phuntsog, Mr. Tsewang Yeshi, and Dr. B. Tsering, united to launch this educational initiative.
Although billions of dollars are being invested to solve schooling ailments for children worldwide, the solutions remain elusive. However, an undeniable conclusion is that the quality of teachers matters more than any other variables for student academic achievement. Hence, this program emphasizes the professional development of teachers, so that professional development modules can be tested, refined, and cultivated at Tibetan schools in exile to eventually nourish the garden of schooling for all children in different communities in the world.
